Our Story

This story starts with our grandparents, Glen and Nona Elmore, who pioneered the path as landowners and the stewardship of our family farm in 1935. In 2005 my journey began when I returned to the farm after working with a small-scale food service company.

Initially, I wanted to develop different farming and ranching techniques opposed to the traditional “tilling the soil” which leads to soil erosion that can have damaging long term effects. Our first attempt was NO TILL farming, unfortunately it didn’t take long to realize that this left the soil exposed which also leads to erosion as well as a lack of soil infiltration. This is the soil's ability to allow water movement into and through the soil profile. This permits the soil to temporarily store water, making it available for uptake by plants and soil organisms. A foundation for a successful and productive farm!

Our Practice

Still believing there had to be a way to farm “NO TILL”, in 2013 we began implementing a practice of cover crops together with integrating our livestock on these acres. Since then we have been able to lower our synthetic fertilizer by 50%, decrease chemicals applied by ⅔, in addition to doubling our organic matter. The doubling of our organic matter has led to doubled water holding capacity along with increased infiltration.

Our Vision

These regenerative practices we developed in our operations have allowed us to enrich our stewardship while restoring the soil along with the other natural resources that our Heavenly Father provided for us. We feel blessed being part of a movement that is creating healthier food sources for all families whether they reside in Texas, The United States or other nations.
